My wedding dress was white and I love it. I don't mind adding bits of color but I don't think I would wear a dress that isn't white or cream or variations of white.

I figure if you're doing it according to the real "white wedding" tradition, then you're OK. But if you're wearing white just because it's what most people do, then maybe it's time to think outside the box.

it all depends on my age when i'll get married, if i am a old fart, then definetely no white dresses. people over 30 should not wear them. where i come from, people laught at this kind of brides, who are trying to pull off white dress when they had like a gazilion sex.

I'm Indian, so my wedding sari will probably be some extremely bright color. BUT if I marry a white guy we might have two ceremonies, in which case I would want my dress for the Christian ceremony to be white, albeit maybe with a colored sash.

White dress all the way! Wearing a colored dress, or even a white dress with color accents, would make me feel like I was just going to a prom or homecoming dance. The only color I would substitute for white though is cream, since I'm not exactly the tannest person in the world. But I don't plan on getting married anytime soon, so I have time to work on that!

Institution of marriage: rendered obsolete by our culture and its destruction of it.Meaning behind wearing white on wedding day: Marred by the grotesque amounts of pre-marital sex the youth of today (and myself) has indulged in.WHY would I follow such a faltering (and in essence, untruthful) model?I am absolutely wearing a color besides white IF I ever get married, which is doubtful.

Doesn't really matter anymore. Only minority grous are still virgins when they're married so the 'tradition' of the white dress is pointless.

I've been planning on it... a nice champagne or caramel, or rich chocolate brown with a white sash...

I'd like to wear a pastel dress, nothing too different. Maybe a pale yellow/gold or grey/silver.

Not everyone looks good in white, so I can understand why certain people would be interested in a different look. Personally, I think I'd stick with the traditional look, but I could always be persuaded if I found a dress in a different color that I really liked :)

i'm not sure. it depends on where i get married. if i get married in a church..then definitely white. But, if it's in Vegas or on the beach somewhere then I'm open to other colors.

I wore white to my first wedding, but when it came to the second one, I wanted something different. I was marrying a very nontraditional guy, so I wore electric blue! The dress looked great on me, and it is a dress that I would wear again to another function. No one has to know it was my wedding dress! The first one just sits in my closet, turning yellow. I say, Go for it!

I was just thinking about this yesterday! I saw a gorgeous light green dress that I would love to have, but it's so glamorous that a wedding is the only reason I'd have to wear it. I've seen silver and slightly tinted off-whites (barely pink, etc) that worked well. I think with the right venue and the right bride almost any color could work. As for me, I won't worry too much about it until I'm engaged.
