Any show that opens with a boxy plaid coat as severely cool as Yigal Azrouël's is bound to deliver in the outerwear department. And the designer's Fall 2014 show did just that with a series of modern toppers that included everything from a lambskin bomber to a leather parka to that aforementioned wool mohair check coat. And as if we weren't given enough covetable options to choose from, he threw in a twist with convertible zippers that doubled many styles' functionality.
It's no surprise that the collection was a "celebration of dimension" as pleats, texture, and an oft-repeated geometric print guided the steely designs. Of course, it wasn't just daywear that dressed Azrouël's ladies. For night, gowns featured the same balance of strength and femininity, as architectural dresses gave us just a few more things to covet on the runway.
