I have poker straight hair and the hairdressers were quite amused on how straight it is

My hair has always been naturally wavy, but I never knew what to do with it in the dry, cold northeast. But after moving to the hot, humid South, it poufed out and I had to learn what products and tricks to do to play up the curls without spending all day on it. I live for John Frieda and a good diffuser.

I voted with "wavy" but it's not a pretty wavy, at all. It goes all funky and sticks out everywhere, but it won't stay straight and it won't go really curly either. So, basically, it's ugly. My daughter got super curly hair from her daddy that she can straighten (see my profile pic). Yes, I hate her sometimes for that.

Girls with curls...I'm telling ya, try a good leave in (heavier for thick, and lighter for thinner) and then Versastyler. I beauty marked it. I just regret telling my hairdresser, she can't keep it off her shelf now! And don't wash it everyday with shampoo...conditioner. The strands are not perfect round and this strips the cuticle.

growing up i had white-blonde, very thin, very fine, straight hair. then puberty hit, and now at 22 I have auburn, curly, very thick, very voluminous hair. the problem is though that because i have so much hair, keeping it long just gets to be overwhelmingly poofy. i guess my dreams of having long hair will never be realized.....

its not straight or curly so if i want straight i have to use the straighner and if i want curly i need the curling iron and if i do nothing it just fuzz! i really wish it was either one or the other this in between stuff stinks!

Keryn, I think we have similar hair. I have a cowlick on either side of my head and one in the back (Hello, side part! My hair is wavier underneath than on top. It frizzes out whenever it rains. It is fine (texture) and thick (amount). The shorter it is, the curlier it is. Fun stuff. Thank GOD I found a great stylist who can cut and highlight my hair well. BaltimoreGal

PinkSparkle, me too! Except it hates to be straightened. Maybe it happens twice a year. I've learned to just accept it. I agree you can't follow anything, but you can master it. All I do is wash it in the morning, sometimes, I only use conditioner, then I put on leave in conditioner and Nexxus Versastyler, and go. It is dried by the time I get to work! You weather environment influences it too.

Let's curls under on my left and out on my right...with kinky waves in the back and a cowlick on the left side of my forehead (hell on bangs!). I'm slowly learning to accept my hair... ;)

CUUUUUUUUURLY. I have naturally spiral curly hair. It is very difficult to work with, but I deal. I can straighten it some days - be "it" have to be in the right mood. I feel with curly hair - you can not really follow the hair fashion of the season because it is a creature on its own.

I do have naturally curly hair (kinky) which I relax. Trying to find a process where I can keep my curls but just not as tight (more waves)and still be able to have it straight when I want it straight (yes I want to have my cake and eat it too)
