Mean Girls Got a Stylish Upgrade — and It Doesn't Include Pink Sweatpants

The Plastics are back in all their pink-themed glory for a little Mean Girls reunion in this week's Entertainment Weekly. That's right — Gretchen, Regina, Karen, Cady, and Ms. Norbury reunited in a lineup of glam-girl cocktail dresses, which look a lot like the grown-up version of their North Shore High School threads.

But while they may have retired certain wares — namely those pink sweatsuits and kitschy print miniskirts — that doesn't mean they've forgotten them. The stars of the movie made that clear when they reminisced about our favorite Mean Girls scenes.

Keep reading to play a little then-and-now with Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, and find out what the grown-up versions of The Plastics are doing today — and more importantly, what they're wearing (we think Cady Heron's little pink dress would still totally pass on Wednesdays!).

Here's where the stars say The Plastics would be now:

"Karen would manage or own a store that sells really cool dog attire, like Swarovski dog collars and Halloween costumes for animals. She's probably really focused." — Amanda Seyfried

"Cady's with Oprah in Africa working at children's schools with a family, teaching girls to be nice to each other." — Lindsay Lohan

"Gretchen is probably running the Toaster Strudel empire. She is probably married and has, like, seven babies right now. She and Jason worked it out. She has very big curly hair." — Lacey Chabert

"Regina is a Real Housewife. She'd have too much time on her hands, for sure. She's probably found all her other Reginas." — Rachel McAdams

Back when the stars filmed Mean Girls in 2004, Tina Fey says, "17-year-old Lindsay was on a mission to find pink UGGs. That was, like, what she was working on."

"I had been online trying to get pink UGGs because I had a pink pleated skirt in the scene where I fall into the garbage can," Lindsay insists. "I was like, 'I need pink UGGs!' I mean, I was rhinestoning my phone at the time with Swarovski crystals. So it was somewhat method."

Tina Fey, who played Ms. Norbury in the film, says, "When I first pitched [the movie] to Lorne [Michaels], I was thinking I'd like to write a movie about what they call 'relational aggression' among girls. He was like, 'Okay, but could they also still have cool cars and cool clothes?' And I was like, 'Oh, for sure!'"
