I have a few of those foods daily: Tea (Green & White), Raspberries, Blueberries, Oranges. I will not eat red meat (although I break that rule 2x's a year for a cheeseburger.) I do not care what some researchers say, red meat is a huge link to cancer (breast cancer!) My family has alot of deaths from cancer so I try to eat a vegetarian diet although I do eat chicken, cheese and some turkey. I love bean salads! So I have no argument with this list except for the beef.

brownafroduck, I think it has something to do with the fiber.

I hate everything on that list except for the red meat, tomato paste, spinach, and beans. Meat is an excellent source of iron, and supplements make me sick. I don't think anyone was paid to add meat to the list. Lean meat in moderation isn't going to hurt anyone.

Hmmm question: What is the difference between old-fashioned oatmeal and instant oatmean, nutritionally?

the red meat on that list has got to go. it was probably only put on there because whoever made the list was being paid by beef companies to do so. as a vegan, not too keen on the salmon or yogurt either, though i reckognize the health benefits in both, and also know that i can get the omega 3's from walnuts and good bacteria from other fermented foods like tempeh and soy yogurt.

I totally agree with javsmav, any list that suggests meat is healthy needs to do a little more research. I've been vegetarian for about 7 years now and vegan for about 4 months, and I have never felt better from eliminating all dairy (along with the meat of course). I understand why yogurt is on that list (for pro-biotics and digestion), but most yogurts like Yoplait and Dannon and all have so much sugar, the nutritional value is lost. The only kinds of yogurts that are actually worth eating are the kinds you make yourself, or the St. Benoit brand (if you can find it). Spinach, black beans and blackberries are my favorite staples!

I'm a vegetarian too and red meat being on a superfoods list isn't gonna make me a carnivore but I don't see why they can't put it on the list. The list is providing healthy choices you can eat, not that you have to eat. I thing the list is great and other than the meat most of these foods are ones that I can't live without.

I love everything on that list, except for the yogurt. I've tried to do the yogurt thing, but I just can't stomach it =(

I'm a vegetarian, so I'm obviously not going anywhere near red meat. I disagree that it is healthy, but I guess using a meat-eaters standard's of healthy, I can kind of see how free range red meat is not an unhealthy food. However, I do NOT see how it can be on the superfoods list--a list of foods that you SHOULD eat.

lean red meat is unbelievably healthy! Especially from grass fed cows. It's sad that the low-fat etc craze has lead the mainstream opinion to be the opposite.

I'm with javsmav... red meat a superfood?? I don't think so....

Sorry, I can't take any list seriously that says you SHOULD eat red meat.
