Oh, you left out the "most minimalist"... sandals like the Tarahumara huaraches. 1/4 the price of VFFs, they'll fit anyone, and have the "most barefoot" feel. (they were reviewed at http://www.livingbarefoot.info/2011/12/invisible-shoes-connect-and-contact-huarache-running-sandal-review/

I have the Merrell Pace Gloves and I love them! I tried the Vibram 5 finger shoes but my toes are weird and didn't really work with them. The Pace Gloves are a great alternative if you don't like the look of the 5 Fingers or, in my case, if they don't fit properly.

Thanks all for your ideas so far, have found something on Amazon called Fitness on Demand, there are a couple of DVD's, a three day workout and abs programme, might suit hubby! anyone seen or heard of it? Let me know.
