Americans Don't Use Sunscreen Regularly

Do You Wear Sunscreen Every Day?

There was a time when I thought sunscreen was only for days at the beach but have since been schooled by friends and dermatologists alike. Now I apply a moisturizer fortified with SPF 15 daily to my face. When I learned the following stats from Choose Skin Health, I was a bit shocked. In the US, 94 percent of people know that prolonged exposure to the sun can cause skin damage and even skin cancer, yet only 20 percent of Americans wear sunscreen on a daily basis. Now, I want to know about you:

just a reminder: UVA and UVB exist in the shade too, or in a room with a window, in your car.

I live in Portland, OR...I haven't seen the sun since September '09. ;)I use sunscreen on my face everyday and will use it on exposed skin when I know I'll be out in the sun.

I usually use a facial moisturizer with SPF 15, but I really want to start using a sunscreen with a higher SPF everyday. The thing is I can't seem to find a sunscreen that doesn't make me break out. In fact, if I apply any kind of moisturizer every single day I break out sooner or later. My skin isn't even oily, it's just... weird!

YES!!! Every day! I use a facial moisturizer with SPF in it, my body lotion has SPF in it, and I use a spray sunscreen daily too! But I'm also going to be 35 next month and look at least 10 years younger!

I wear facial moisturizer with SPF 15 every day, and now that it's getting closer to summer I'm gonna try to put on sunscreen more often! I always forget though...

I don't in the fall and winter, when it's not sunny.

Every day, SPF 30. Even if I'm inside (house has a lot of windows). I have rosacea, and the sun really exacerbates it. I also reapply when I leave work on the days I'm riding my bike home. But I'm also one of the "only on my face" people.

Girl, I've never used their moisturizer, but Juice Beauty has an SPF 15 moisturizer. I've used other products of theirs and liked them. Boscia has two SPF 15 options, as well. Again, I've never used their moisturizer, but I've had success with some of their other products. Good luck with finding something that works for you!

This is a good opportunity to ask:Does anyone have any recommendations for green facial moisturizers with an SPF of 15 or better? I'm trying to make the transition to all (or as close to "all" as I can get, with my fickle body) green body products. I'm currently using a foundation by Physician's Formula (their Organic Wear line) that has an SPF of 15, which is a good start - but I don't generally put foundation right up into my hairline or all over my neck/chest, which I typically do with a lotion/sublock combo.

I don't use it everyday, it causes breakouts. I'm native american and everyday use left me with a pasty, colorless face which I don't like so I'm trying to get back some color in it. I use organic moisturizer on my face, neck and hands with no spf. It depends on how sunny/hot it is out and how long I'll be under the sun with no cover to determine whether I use it. But if I'll just be walking around/doing errands then I don't use it. I wear a hat and/or sunglasses (with UV protection) if its pretty sunny out.

I honestly really should. I lifeguarded for four years (I was in the shade 99.5% of the time though) and I stopped wearing it because it stained all my work clothes. I

Yes and no. Like everyone else, I wear a moisturizer with spf (mine has 30) every day. I actually put a separate sunscreen (usually spf 60) on when I know I am going to be outside for longer periods of time.

I don't put on sunscreen every single day, but most days I am either wearing a facial moisturizer that has SPF 15 OR my foundation which also has SPF 15 in it.

I wear moisturizer with spf 15 in it every day but not on my arms or legs. I almost always wear it if I know I will be out in the sun a lot, especially because I live in Florida. If I don't wear it I will suffer later!

I know I should but I'm too forgetful. But as a redhead I've always been used to hanging out in the shade anyway... I do like the sun but even with sunscreen I end up burned half the time so I try to avoid exposure when I can.

Sunscreen makes me break out, plus my skin is naturally really oily. But my mineral makeup has spf 15, and I wear that almost every day. I just don't worry, cuz I don't spend much time in the sun.
