Hi. I'm Zelana from FitSugar. While I love kale, I know not everyone is into it. But when made into a crispy, salty chip that has less calories than a potato chip, they're completely irresistible to anyone. So here's what you'll need: a bunch of kale, seasalt and olive oil. That's it. For the kale, you'll want to go with something that has more of a flat leaf, also known as dino-kale. You can go for a curly kind; it'll just have a little more body. It'll still be crisp and crunchy. I just tend to go for the flat. Also, try to choose a leaf that's a bit darker. It has more nutrients in it. First, you want to preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is preheating, you want to wash your kale. Now, the thing with washing kale is, you don't want soggy kale when you're making the chip. So, you want to wash it well because it's a bit dirty but then dry it really well, too. Now comes the fun part. We're gonna take the leaf and tear it up into bite size pieces. Sometimes it's easier just to take the whole half of the leaf off the stem and then cut it up. A lot of people like to take off the stems. I personally like to keep them on because they contain a lot of fiber and certain enzymes that aid in digestion. But, it's up to you. Now that you have your kale pieces in a bowl, you want to drizzle some extra virgin olive oil on top. Not too much, you don't want to drown the chips. And just toss it around it enough so that so that you coat all the pieces. Next, sprinkle some sea salt. From here, take the kale pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet Now, you don't have to be precise about how you're arranging the pieces. You just want each piece to have it's own spot on the baking sheet. Perfect. Now into the oven. After you pull them out of the oven, you want to let them sit for about five minutes to cool. Once you've made the regular chip, you can play with different flavor combos. Try adding Parmesan for a cheesy twist, or cumin for some spice. Let me know which flavors you prefer.
