9 Wish-List-Worthy Activewear Pieces From Outdoor Voices

Feb 28 2016 - 6:30am

There's been a shift in my SoulCycle classes recently, and it has nothing to do with the choreography. In fact, it has nothing to do with the workout — the shift has been in what people are wearing. The gals in the front row who've typically been entirely clad in Lululemon have begun to don fresh new longline bras and leggings featuring a logo I hadn't seen before. I noticed it on my best friend at a class we took together the other day. The brand? Outdoor Voices.

I was immediately drawn to the subtle sophistication, the minimalism, and the ultraflattering silhouettes. While I tend to reach for bright colors on the racks, I'm absolutely in love with the soft pastels and neutrals OV has on offer. But then, as I went to add every item to my cart do a little online shopping, I realized something horrifying: I'm not the only one who is obsessed. These pieces are flying off the shelves faster than you can say, "TAKE MY MONEY," so there are quite a few items on my wish list.

Amazing news, though: a little OV bird told us these things are going to be back in stock. So get your accounts and credit cards ready, and start making your wish list. Scroll through to see my favorite picks from this gorgeous brand.

Slashback Crop

If you're like me, you're obsessed with this coveted style and totally devastated that all the colors flew off the shelves and left you in the "sold out" dust. But I have some great news for you — there's a restock coming, and it's coming in March (aka very, very soon). Will I be checking the site every day in anticipation of its arrival? Yes. Yes, I will. In the meantime, I'll be snagging some of the following items, all of which are equally swoon-inducing . . .

Warmup Legging — Slate

Promised to be "ludicrously comfortable," the Warmup Legging [1] ($90) is made of a soft, textured compression fabric. It comes in beautiful colors, all of which I've been dying over, including this blue and a soft chalky pink.

Warmup Legging — Chalk Pink

Here it is in pink, because how beautiful is that color?!

Colorblocked Athena Crop Bra

If you're familiar with the brand, you're familiar with the Athena silhouette — it's one of its core items. This colorblock, cropped version [2] ($50) is fresh and colorful.

Steeplechase Bra

I would totally wear this strappy bra [3] ($55) every day, well beyond the walls of my local Equinox.

Merino Tee — Navy

The Merino collection from OV is touted as "temperature regulating" without being scratchy, all while being breathable and absorbing odor. All of these qualities are found in the Merino Tee [4] ($70). Can I please have 75 of these tees?

7/8 Tri-Tone Warmup Legging

Since I'm ever so slightly vertically challenged (OK, fine, I'm five feet two inches), 7/8 pants actually end up being 8/8 or sometimes 9/8 pants on me. This colorblock combo in the Tri-Tone Warmup [5] ($90) is sleek and stylish without being over the top — and I likely won't need to hem them at all.

3/4 Warmup Legging — Mint

The perfectly subtle hint-of-mint color of this 3/4 Warmup Legging [6] ($80) is exactly what my activewear lineup needs. It's a fresh update to my sea of black leggings, but still neutral enough to go with so much of what I already own.

Catch-Me-If-You-Can Hoodie

Fun fact: sometimes I try to wear size small menswear sweatshirts or jackets (or extra small, if it's ever available), which is ridiculous, because I'm already a very tiny woman, so I typically drown in some of my favorite pieces. I love this piece [7] ($84) because it's totally like a slouchy men's sweatshirt, but it doesn't overwhelm a feminine frame.
