If you're in the mood for a comfortable night out, nothing beats going to see a movie. But chances are if you're eating healthfully, there's nothing at the theater's concession stand that will pass the test.
AMC Theatres, however, is looking to change that. The movie chain has just debuted its new Smart Movie Snacks bundle. The snack pack, which will cost a surprisingly affordable $7, will contain fruit chips, trail mix, popped corn chips, and a bottle of water (which can be substituted for Diet Coke or Coke Zero).
Sounds healthy, but want to know how this new snack pack compares with your normal go-to movie snacks? Find out after the break!

|Nachos with cheese, large, 4 oz||1101||59|

More calorie breakdowns for your favorite movie concession buys can be found here. At less than half the amount of calories than a large buttered popcorn (not even counting the empty calories from a nondiet soda) and a lot less fat (including saturated fat: 57 g vs. 2 g), the bundle is a great way to indulge in a snack craving while watching the latest thriller.
But while I'm glad that AMC is offering a healthy alternative to its crazily high-calorie options, I'm not sure if these healthy options will catch on. For one, you couldn't share it as easily as a drink-and-popcorn deal, meaning the price would add up if you bought more than one. Also, I'm not a big movie snacker, but when I do crave something, many times it's a more unhealthy option like candy or a small popcorn (making sure to share and to not eat the whole thing!), and I'm sure many are the same. What about you? Would you buy healthy snacks at the movies?
