Challenge Yourself Physically

Need Motivation? Challenge Yourself to Something

In 2008 I've decided that (at some point this year) I am going to be able to run a seven minute mile, like I could in high school — yikes. Challenging myself to new things is one way that keeps things exciting for me because I am always so proud of myself after I've reached my goal. Once I accomplish it, I'll move onto something else. So, if you're having a hard time motivating yourself, then how about challenging yourself physically? Challenge yourself to run a race, learn how to snowboard, or even master salsa dancing. It really doesn't matter what your challenge is, just try to make it something attainable and go for it.

I would love to hear how you are going to challenge yourself. Tell me about it in the comments section below.

Oh, and another challenge is to lose 10 kilos (22 pounds) this year, and I'm stepping up to it already!

One of my New Year's resolutions is to learn to snowboard! I've been skiing every winter season for two years now, and have been 'dancing' around the idea to try snowboarding for a while now. This year I've put it on my new year's resolution list. So that's my sporty challenge for this year :D

I wish I could think of something concrete that I'd like to achieve. Right now I'm focusing on a healthy life change. I'm trying to pay attention to calories like usual but now protein, fiber, nutrients - all the good stuff that will make a difference in the long run. And I've also gone back to the gym on a regular basis.

This year I started running. I tried tennis, soccer, ballet... and nothing makes me feel as good as running. Swimming is great too, but I don't have the time.

For the last couple of years, I've been going to the gym about 3-4 days a week. I do about 45 - 60 minutes of cardio. This year I want to start going to the gym about 6 days a week like I did before and add weight training to my work out. Wish me luck! :)

Well my new year's resolution is to surf this year, but I'm thinking that's a summer time thing. For the moment I saw a great challenge on nike running's site, 300 miles in 30 days. I did the math and it's totally doable, so once I kick this vile cold I'm going to start on that.

Some co-workers are riding in the MS 150 here in Dallas in May and they're trying to talk me into riding that with them. 150 miles in two days! Yikes...I haven't decided between that or running a 5K.

I decided to keep myself on track with my weight loss (half way there!) that I would join the Biggest Loser Million Pound Match-Up. What that means is that I have to make a blog post on MSN Live Spaces at least once a week tracking my progress. For me this is a challenge because I will be PUBLICLY accountable for my actions. It won't just be me saying I lost, but putting up pictures and anecdotes to prove it.
