What's Wrong With This Picture: Exercise Edition

It doesn't take the brains of a rocket scientist to know how to exercise safely, but there are some things everyone needs to know about proper form and techniques when working out. For instance, bench pressing 75 pounds without someone to spot you just isn't safe, and not stretching before a run is a great way to end up with a pulled a muscle. That doesn't look like cobra...that looks like upward dog to me....straight arms, hips off of the floor, etc. Ok, fellow yogis, am I wrong? :)

I didn't know you shouldn't walk with hand weights. What exactly do you tear? Oh, I loved how you shouldn't be holding on for dear life. So funny.

Insanitypepper, you'd be surprised. I used to feel the exact same way, but I recently started bar method and we use 2-3lb weights. All the movements are little and engaged. Within a couple of mins, my arms are burning. I'm sore right now!

Hamstring stretch threw me. My yoga class teaches people to have palms on the ground with bent legs and to work towards straightening your legs, so I go that wrong.

4/5 didn't know about the weights either. And I really wanted to say working out in only a sports bra was the problem. I just don't get why people do that!
