Cut Your Risk of Heart Attack With 5 Things

During the month of October we put an extra emphasis on Breast Cancer Awareness, which means it's easy to forget about spreading awareness about other killers among women, such as heart disease.

In the spirit of covering all grounds to keep us ladies healthy, try to adopt these five simple factors to significantly reduce your own risk of heart attack:

  • Maintain a healthy diet with lots of vegetables, fruit, whole grains, fish and legumes
  • Drink less than a quarter ounce of alcohol daily
  • Don't smoke
  • Avoid weight gain
  • Be physically active

Interestingly enough, these sound quite similar to the five things you can do to reduce your risk of breast cancer.

A quarter ounce of alcohol daily?! I don't drink daily, but why bother if the recommended daily limit is a fraction of a shot glass? I'm assuming that's a typo. A glass of wine a day is ok, and I think that's around 5 ounces - 20 times the amount recommended on this post.

i don't smoke and don't drink alcohol my diet is healthy lots of fruits and veggies and i workout regularly but i have a lot of weight to lose, i let myself go last year and still cannot get rid of that much weight i gained i ruined my body with depression

Maintain a healthy diet with lots of vegetables, fruit, whole grains, fish and legumes - I LOVE MY VEGGIES AND FISH :) Drink less than a quarter ounce of alcohol daily - I MIGHT DRINK OCNE A WEEK TOPS... Don't smoke - I'M REALLY TRYING!!! Avoid weight gain - I DON'T THINK I COULD GAIN WEIGHT BECAUSE OF THE GYM! UNLESS IT WAS MUSCULE! Be physically active - 5 DAYS A WEEK BABY!
