When it comes to snacking, I tend to stroll into the kitchen, grab the easiest most appealing bag or box, and start munching. Sound familiar? The thing is though, if you keep reaching into the bag for more, it's easy to lose track of how much you actually ate, and you can end up eating way more calories than you meant to.
So instead, measure out a serving size or take a handful and put it on a plate. Then close the bag, and put it away. This goes for any kind of snack food you buy— bags, boxes, and containers. Don't eat straight out of the big box of whole grain crackers or bag of nuts either. Just because these are healthy snacks doesn't mean you can eat as much as you want and the calories don't add up.
