Do Think Exercise Is a Pleasure or a Chore?

For some people, exercise is an enjoyable part of the day. It relieves stress, provides a break from work, or gives you much-needed time alone. Others have to drag themselves to the gym, and count the minutes until their workout is over. How do you feel about your workouts?

A necessary evil. 9 times out of 10 it is a pain in the butt. I basically do it for the AMAZING rewards.

Both. Somedays I struggle but once I'm in the spirit of things I feel fantastic afterwards.

It's a little of both for me. I look forward to it for the most part, but I really do love it when I'm finished! I don't complain about it much, though...I love the way working out makes me feel.

luckily, i've gotten to the point where i exercise if i feel like it and don't exercise if i absolutely don't want to. for me, it's better to skip a day [or even longer!] if i really don't feel like it. i'd rather be happy than miserable :]

A commitment AND pleasure.

dragging myself out of bed to workout before work is often a chore, but i feel so much better about myself when i'm exercising regularly. i also love having my evenings free to go out with friends or just relax.

definitely both- making sure gear is clean, functional, put away, brought out, showering afterwards, getting to and from gyms/pools, carrying gym bags, getting rid of workout stench, and making sure i eat enough to get me through the day- all nightmares of a chore!!. but totally worth it for the heart-pounding, sweat producing, endorphin releasing aspect, reaching new milestones and setting new challenges makes me feel born again, so as a person who loves her daily workout, the pleasure definitely outweighs the chore : )

Both!I definitely love working out and that awesome feeling of strength and accomplishment after the great workout session is definitely a pleasure. However due to the crazy busy work schedule I do have to schedule my work out sessions (usually first thing in the morning)as I schedule my business meeting and other things I'm responsible for...so that is the "chore" part:)

Love yoga--usually and running around playing tennis. A.m. workouts, while def necessary, are also def a chore. I do feel accomplished after checking something off my list for the day, though!

A chore to anticipate and to plan for... a pleasure to do and to bask in the aftermath!

I'm going to join the chorus and say it's a little bit of both. Sometimes I dread going to the gym, but when I miss a day of exercise I really regret it, both out of guilt and actually missing it. It also depends on the exercise - I could play tennis or swim all day long but those long gym sessions of elliptical-ing and weight training can't go by quickly enough!

It depends on the day and the activity. Some days when the workout just comes easily for me, it's a pleasure. But some days if I'm tired or lazy, it's a huge chore. Either way, the pleasure outweighs the chore after the workout is done, so it's worth it!

Definitely a chore for me. I usually feel good that I did it afterwards, but I'm always counting down how much longer I have to go.

It depends... For example, if it's about running with friends at a beautiful park is pleasure, but if it's about exercising all day alone in a gym is definitely chore... So, a little bit of both.

I say pleasure. I get that strangely-satisfied feeling no other way. Although, maybe once a week I have a day where I'm like "Ugh really don't feel like it..." But then I do it, and I feel great when I do it, and even better when I'm done. It really just opens up my body and I feel... better.
