Do You Crack Your Knuckles?

Scientific research assures us that a steady habit of cracking your knuckles won't lead to arthritis or permanent joint damage. Well that's good news, because I occasionally love to snap, crack, and pop the joints in my fingers, and my hubby won't play the guitar till he's cracked all his knuckles. What about you?

My shoulder and spine are a bit messed up, and I'll pop them occasionally because it does make them feel better, but I hate the sound! I can't help but cringe when I hear other people popping their joints, too.

I hate cracking bones!!!! seriously, its like nails on a chalkboard. if you have to do it, step into a bathroom! i understand that sometimes it happens accidentally (my hip sometimes pops on accident) but people who stand in line at the grocery store, popping one finger after the other, should be warned that one day I will not be able to stop myself from punching you. Just saying.

Uch...I despite the sound of knuckle (back, neck, whatever) cracking! It's up there with my top pet peeves. My students (I teach high school English) know that if they're going to crack something, they have to leave the class and come back..lol!

Oh I am glad to hear this... I have always avoided doing it, for the fear of arthritis... and my 8 year old nephew does it and I am always nagging him not to... now I don't need to- yay!

I cant help it. Sometimes I dont even know I do it..like a nervous habit sort of thing. Hubby always yells at me for it..lol. Drives him nuts. Parent's used to too when I was a kid (even did it way back then). If I dont, it feels like my fingers get stiff and I dont have as much flexability to them-especially at work or when typing alot...like now..lol.

I've never really done it compulsively, but I'm not worried about it hurting my joints.

I find that I always have to crack my knuckles. Even when I just make a fist, my knuckles crack on THEIR OWN!! Its a bad habit I cant control! lol I hate how it sounds but it relaxes me. My nephew finds it hilarious when I do it :)

I can't bring myself to do it. My violin instructor would scream at us if she caught us cracking our knuckles. Eight years of her is enough to break anyone of the habit. Now, it just feels gross when I do try.,

Yeah, I know it sounds gross, but I can't stop.

I don't. Mostly because my knuckles don't really crack, they just hurt if I try to crack them.
