Do You Exercise Even When You're Sore?

I found a new running buddy in my neighborhood, and let's just say that she's much more hard-core than I. I led her through a leisurely 35-minute run, and the next day, it was her turn to lead. She had us running up every hill in the woodsy trails near our homes. By the end, we had run for over an hour. The next morning I woke up to extremely sore legs and a phone call asking if I was up for going again. I had to pass, saying I was way too sore to even bend over and tie my sneaks.

Exercising when I'm a little sore often relieves my tightness, but when I'm so sore even walking hurts, I skip the workout and rest. What about you?

I'm at the point where I only get mildly sore after working out and it doesn't really last more than a little while. I find that if I work out when I'm sore, the soreness goes away faster.

It depends on where I'm sore and what work out I have planned for the day.

It really depends on the type of soreness, but my friend has proven to me that a long but easy bike ride the day after a rough hike helps me more than anything. <3

I'm hardly sore but I guess I worked a little too hard yesterday (zumba, and yoga). Today I could hardly touch my toes! Haha, but I figured I could crank it out with stretching. Long story short, worst run ever. lol.

Generally yes. Working out generally relieves my soreness.

It really depends on how sore I am and my energy level for the day.

If I do something "different" (example: today I had my first kick boxing class) the next day I may take it easy. I'm only planning on running for 30mins tomorrow rather than my normal 30-60mins... If I'm REALLY sore, I may just skip it all together since I'll be standing at work for 8hrs anyway... So, I chose "It depends how sore I am, or where I'm sore."

"Exercising when I'm a little sore often relieves my tightness" -- Yeap, I felt the same way too. I just did the SFM over the weekend, and I am back to the Y for Body Pump / Swim on Monday. 6 miles run on Tuesday.
