Do You Own a Scale?

If you're trying to maintain your current weight or lose a few pounds, weighing yourself periodically is a great tactic to keep an eye on your progress. Some people weigh themselves every few weeks or so at the gym or their doctor's office, but if you like to weigh yourself more often, owning your own scale is the most convenient option. So I'm wondering . . .

I haven't had one in 20 years but I've been eyeing the ones with body fat and hydration monitoring. Anybody have any of those?

This is the first time I've owned a scale or been in a house with one for six years because I have been trying to lose weight. It's a digital scale, but I wish I had purchased a manual one. Otherwise, I have my weekly weigh-in every Monday at 12:30 p.m. It sets the tone for the rest of the week.

I own one and weigh myself every week same day so I don't magically gain 10lbs...

I don't own one but I go by how my clothes fit and how I feel overall.

I own one. A couple of months ago I started exercising and eating better, so it was kind of fun to jump on every morning and see what/if I had dropped. I am no longer "obese" and I am very happy with the way I feel. I've hit a rough spot lately, but I'm trying not to let it bother me too much--but I would like to lose a bit more. :-)

no scales scare me. i used to have one and i would weigh myself a million times a day and would freak out about the number, so now i try to avoid scales at all costs.

No scale. All I need is a mirror to tell me how great I look :) Skinny is no cure for ugly.

I have one and only bought it to weigh my bags before going to the airport!! I will never step on that thing and agree that it's how your clothes fit, not a number.

I don't have a scale and I think the best way to guage if you're losing or gaining weight is by how your clothes fit. An actual number is only going to mess with your head.

I have one, but it's kind of dusty right now. I only weigh myself once a week or so. I know that my weight fluctuates by a good 5 or 6 lbs a day, so I don't ever take my weight that seriously. I go more by how my clothes fit and how I look in the mirror.

I have that 5lb window also.. if it's more than that I take a hard look at what I'm doing differently. I consider it a useful tool as I'm losing weight. My Mom and I bought one together and we trade off every 2 weeks. I find I actually work harder the weeks I don't have it because it's so fun to step on the morning after I do get it and see the number down! I don't think i'm obsessive though.

I step on the scale every morning. I wish I didn't feel the need.

I get bloating and muscle weight weighs more than fat... i think its unhealthy to be obsessed with weight. I go more..by how i look, feel and fit in my size 6 jeans. (im 5ft 10 so i think size 6 is a slim healthy look)

I have one, although I don't use it much. Last night, I learned the important lesson that the best time to use it is not after a night out drinking beer with friends. Eesh!
