Do You Shower at the Gym?

I don't shower at my gym. My routine goes a little like this: change into my gym clothes at home, head to the gym for a workout, and return home to shower. I don't like having to carry a bag full of bath products around, and using a public shower makes me squeamish —  I've obviously heard too many stories about catching foot fungus! Most of my friends don't mind showering at the gym, except for a few who don't want to strip down in front of strangers. And while having to go back home to shower and change can be a bit of a hassle, it's something that I don't mind. Tell me . . .

Nope--in general, but also because I live across the street. ;p

The idea completely grosses me out. Luckily I live only about five minutes away from my gym!

I never used to, but the showers and products at my current gym are so nice it's kind of a treat! I wear flip-flops because I, too, am very squeamish about any public place where people are walking around in their bare feet - yuck. I don't know if it's the gym's policy all day or if it's just when I go, but they literally have at least one person from the maintenance staff in the bathroom at all times cleaning, so I never feel like it's dirty. I don't go during a busy time, so I'm sure that helps.

I will if I have somewhere to go after the gym. I keep my bag packed with travel size products (the bare minimum) kept in ziplocs. My flip flops are in a gallon size ziploc, the same ones I use for the pool so I always have them.

No, I don't. I'd rather take a shower at home.

I do, all the time, and I haven't caught any foot fungus or anything. It helps that the cleaning staff at my gym is really on top of stuff. Also for my own convenience, I have two sets of shower stuff--one at home, and one that I keep in a wire basket that goes with me to the gym.

Yes, but only when necessary. Just because I feel like I always forget something: my flip flops, a towel, my shower poof, my makeup bag... ugh such a hassle.

I said "yes" though technically I haven't yet. But this coming semester I'm going to be hitting the gym Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings, then heading to class and work after. So I don't have much of a choice except using our gym showers. But the showers seem pretty nice, plus I'm used to dorm showers, LOL.

No, I don't - I go straight home after the gym, dump my dirty clothes in the laundry basket and shower in the cleaniness and comfort of my own home. Judge me all you want but the gym showers really gross me out. Unless I'm really rushed and am meeting someone right after my workout, then I'll shower.

The showers at my gym will make your local garbage dump site look like heaven. Also, I just feel as if when I am showering at the gym I have to constantly worry about carrying extra stuff (shower shoes, cap, lotion, face cream) and pray to God that I don't end up touching the shower walls or the curtain or worse fall or touch the floor with my bear feet for even a tiny second.
