Do You Use an Electric Toothbrush?

We all have different strategies to inspire us to workout and one such strategy is buying gadgets. I wonder if this technique crosses over to dental health. My first electric toothbrush inspired me to brush my teeth since I often went longer than the 2 minute built in timer. My exuberance for my electric toothbrush has since cooled a bit and I use both kinds of brushes. But what about you...

mizz_jennii have you ever tried one?I felt the same way as you until I tried one. I wouldn't go back to regular. It's a better clean with an electric and combined with flossing your teeth are practically stainless.

I use twigs and sometimes a wool brush if I can find one lying around in the garage.

It's all about Sonicare, y'all. No matter how diligently I brushed and flossed in the past (and I'm REALLY OCD about oral hygiene), I still developed Stage II periodontitis. The only thing that stopped this was switching to Sonicare from a manual toothbrush!!On top of saving my teeth, it also keeps them so white that people constantly ask me where I got them whitened! I drink coffee and soda all the time, so that's quite a feat! My new hygienist even told me, "Whoever whitened your teeth did a great job!" Thank you, Sonicare!!!

I have a Sonicare because my dentist told me I needed one... So I do use it, but sometimes I'm lazy and I do a quick brush with my regular one. Also, it's a pain to carry the electronic one around when I go on trips. Even though it'll stay charged for a couple days, it's still a lot chunkier than a normal toothbrush!

I heart my electric toothbrush; I can feel the difference in how clean (smooth) my teeth feel, and as the batteries run out I'm reminded to replace the head. Good stuff!

I don't, the one I was using was actaully doing more harm than good, as it was pushing my gums back in a few spots. So be careful.

I love my Sonicare! Mine even has the toothpaste built in so that I can press a button and add more while brushing.

My family has used a Sonicare toothbrush for years and we have been very pleased with it. Your teeth sure do feel clean and we've had no cavities.

As an environmentalist, I'm kind of against tools/gadgets that are unnecessarily electronic. I've never had a cavity and I've always used a regular old toothbrush, and plan to for as long as they still exist (I fear that someday everything will have a battery or plug somehow). Electric ones aren't even time-saving, as you have to spend just as much time brushing with them. Why plug in a charge something like this that uses our earth's resources for no good reason? Americans already use way more than anyone else without a second thought.
