Eat Light to Splurge Later

Splurging For Dinner? Eat Healthy All Day

On a girls night last weekend, I went to a new restaurant with a bunch of friends. The place already has a reputation for being truly decadent and delicious, especially its desserts. I knew I'd be devouring some major calories that night, so I made sure to eat super healthy for the entire day leading up to dinner. I ate oatmeal with fresh fruit and nuts for breakfast, a salad with grilled chicken for lunch, and then I felt good about going way overboard for dinner and dessert.

If you know you're going to be splurging for one meal, maybe a huge spread for a family brunch, a good friend's BBQ featuring homemade sausages, or a decadent dinner like me, go healthy for the rest of the day. You'll feel good about splurging (instead of regretting it), and your waistline will appreciate it as well.

Right now I feel mad at me because I let this happen in the past 2 and half years, eating sugar foods...now I trying to return at my old self..a healthy girl.

I defiantly do this all the time. Or right before I eat something I know I shouldn't I do a bunch of jumping jacks. lol.

Yep, this is my strategy as well. If I want jelly beans or a piece of cake, I cut back a little bit everywhere else. It's all about how many calories you get in vs. how many you expend.

Ahh yes yes. I do this..so I maintain my current weight pretty well.I always know what I'm going to cook for dinner, or what I'm going to bake one day, and in order to balance that 'splurge,' I eat light on the other meals..doesn't always have to be dinner (the splurge meal), sometimes it's lunch (so I'll have light dinner and spartan breakfast), and so on.
