yes the stretching question is arguable because i've heard different opinions, i personally can't hold a stretch for more than a minute! i'm working on it though...

Unfortunately for folks like me who can only do low to medium impact, jogging is not an option. =(

My physio would disagree on the 30 seconds. He said that you have to hold a stretch for a minimum of 70 seconds for it to be even worth you bothering and ONLY when the muscles are warm. Stretching with cold muscles is like stretching a cold elastic band...
