Fit Tip: Sprint During Commercials

If you're a fan of watching TV while on the elliptical, stationary bike, or treadmill, commercials can be a real drag. So use those few minutes to get your heart rate up and sprint as fast as you can. Pay attention to nothing but going as fast as you can. Once your show returns, you slow down to moving at a moderate pace. Not only will adding sprints make the time go by faster, adding interval training to your workouts has been proven to reduce belly fat. Talk about a win/win workout.

Ooh, great idea! I guess this even works for communal TVs at the gym.

I totally do that on my bike! I crank up the resistance during a commercial or during a certain scene.

I already do it like that. Sprinting during commercials makes them go quicker, so I can get back to the show.

When it was too dark to run outside after work and I was stuck on the mill I'd do this ! It's a good way to help pass the time.

I do sprints, but not during the commercials. I usually make up my own little schedule for them. It's not a bad idea, though.

This is why I can't wait until I'm out of college and have my own place. So I could work out while watching my favorite TV shows. :)
