didn't got the damper one right... i actually doubt that all machines have the same steps of resistance, do they? and i only knew this fartlek-question since i've seen a lot "lekande barn"-signs in sweden that warned because of playing children, although i've heard the german term somewhere before...

A few tips for the rowing machine ("erg" or "ergometer"): - going too high on the resistance can actually hurt you - if used properly, the exercise should get 70% of its stroke power from your legs, particularly your hamstrings - people tend to crank on the machine with their backs and arms instead of using proper form to maximize their workout on the machine The order of the stroke should be (from the "catch" up by the wheel): - Extend the legs, keeping the angle of the back static and the arms straight. - Once the legs are extended, the back should swing into a very slight layback, focusing a bit of tension on the abs. - Once the 'layback' of the stroke is complete, bring your arms in to around the bottom of your bra and then let them follow the chain so that they're once more straight (your arms should always follow along the same plane) - At this point, follow the momentum and bring the back angle back to the where it was at the beginning. - Now, allow your knees to bend and bring you back up to the 'catch', so you're once again crouched.

Fartleks are a MUCH more fun way of doing speedwork than track workouts or tempo runs, IMO :)

Along the line of fitness, I wanted to point out the healthy eating habits. I have an article on about coconu oil at http://blogs.biproinc.com/healthcare/?p=725 We might write more about other herbal products in the future. Why are we doing it? It is because we believe the closer you are with the nature, healthier you will be.

Sweet I got them all but the last question was a complete shot in the dark as I have never used a rowing machine. I wish we had one at our gym, it looks like a great workout!
