Food Review: Terra Crinkles — Garlic Mashed

Salty foods are my weakness and every once in a while I crave potato chips. I'm a huge fan of Terra chips, and Sweets & Beets are my favorite. When I was at the store, I saw that Terra came out with a new kind of chip, Terra Crinkles. I decided to give the Garlic Mashed a try. Want to know what I thought and how many calories are in one serving? Then

Serving Size 17 chips
Calories 130
Total Fat 6g
Saturated Fat .5g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 170mg
Carbs 19g
Fiber 2g
Sugar 1g
Protein 2g

When I took my first bite, I thought, "Mmmmm, these taste just like garlic mashed potatoes." They had a savory flavor and just the right amount of saltiness, without a ton of sodium per serving. I also loved that they had a hard crispy texture, and are thick enough to dip into hummus if you wanted to. After a while, the flavor was a little too much, which I guess is a good thing, because I couldn't even eat one serving. I also wasn't too psyched with the strong oniony-garlic after taste left in my mouth, but I guess I should have expected that. Overall I liked the way they tasted, but for almost $5 for a fairly small amount of chips, I don't think I'd buy these again.

Potato chips are a luxury I let myself sample every so often. I might give these a try.

I like Terra chips too...I sometimes buy the Mediterranean-flavored ones. I do agree that they're a little pricey for such a small amount of chips.

I'm not a big chip person, which is probably a good thing. My husband loves them though. I don't think I'd buy these anytime soon...they have the same amount of calories as regular chips and are about twice as expensive. No thanks :)

Potato chips are my weakness as well. Even the lower fat options still make you fat...so I stopped buying them. :(

xminniex, oh, goodness me to! I LOVE salt & vinegar, especially the kettle cooked ones! We used to have contests at my work center to see who could get through the bottom of the bag without making the sour face!

I'm addicted to Salt n vinegar chips, kettle cooked are awesome. I can eat the whole bag in one sitting. which is really bad for you, considering the salt content! I also try not to buy them unless I'm really craving them!

Such a weakness. The salt and ground pepper kettle chips are my favorite. Even though they're natural, theyre still by no means good for me. I try to only buy the single serving bags b/c otherwise ill plow through half a bag without blinking. My roommate and I have the same problem. Bags of chips don't last more than 2 days in our place. So we just try not to buy them.

These days you can find some good, relatively low-fat potato chips. I'll stick to those anyday!!
