Gwyneth Paltrow Shares Video of Tracy Anderson's Arm Workout That Cured Her Bat Wing Issue

Gwyneth Paltrow: Thanks to Tracy Anderson, My "Sagging Ass" Is in Shape

Madonna may have given trainer Tracy Anderson the boot, but that hasn't stopped pal Gwynnie Paltrow from professing her adoration for all things Tracy. The actress pens a love note to the trainer in her latest GOOP newsletter that also includes a video workout and mini-interviews from celebs like Courteney Cox, Donna Karan, and Kristin Davis.

"Tracy shares with us a little arm series that I did everyday preparing for Iron Man and that I take on the road. She just made it home-made style for me, lo fi. But it's good. Especially for the batwing problem."

To see what Courteney, Kristin, and Donna say about Tracy,

.

Courteney Cox: "I have seen amazing results that I never thought were possible. My butt has lifted, my arms are sculpted, and my skin is tight and actually clings to the muscle again."

Donna Karan: "The Method is never boring and there are so many options to keep your mind and body engaged. I like that you are doing the work and not relying on a machine."

Kristin Davis: "The thing that I am most impressed with about Tracy’s Method is that it really does elongate and tone muscle. I’ve tried most of the classes and methods out there, and this is the first one that hasn’t added bulk over time (especially to my legs)."

Are you going to give Tracy's booty shakin' routine a try?

I think her "method" lets women in Hollywood achieve exactly what they are being pressured to achieve... a size zero. But please, let's not pretend that this workout is what gets these women there. It is a combination of strict caloric reduction and exercise that makes one a size zero. I think what's insulting here is assuming that women who want something different than the Hollywood Standard (or, the Hollywood Car Wash) is not "ideal". I think everyone plays around with their fitness regimes to find exactly where they want to be... what is important, however (and here is where Tracy misses the mark big time) is to pay more attention to how ones body feels instead of how one looks. It seems that Tracey's primary goal is to get women whittled down into clones of other skinny women, but at what cost? I truly believe it's better to have more padding, but with healthy insides than to be super "toned, long and lean" and have a imbalanced interior (so to speak. That one was harder to put into words than I had thought...).

Is she serious? Heaven forbid a woman pick up a dumbell.

It looks like a major waste of time to me!! Neither Tracy nor Gwyneth even look that "toned". There are dozens of STRONG women who look more impressive fitness-wise at my gym alone.

Personally, the only thing that has really worked for me has been the Robin Sparkles Method. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF1b1pf9DRY

Ok I have a confession - I've done some weirdo moves like this and thought I was a complete idiot, I didn't realize I was a fitness guru! Wow. I'm so impressed with myself ;o) Seriously, this is kind of strange. But if it works for you, I guess go for it? Just don't let anyone see you?

lollofit, I don't think someone's deceptive business practices, theft of customers' funds and illegal dodging of financial obligations in a business setting is their "personal life." It is their professional reputation. I think anyone should investigate that before giving someone a significant amount of money upfront for a service.

I think Gwyneth looks amazing, and if she feels like this works for her, great. But I purchased the Tracy Anderson mat DVD (before I knew anything about her) and I personally found it to be the most bizarre thing ever. It was mind-numbingly boring, and she gives little to no audio cues. I can't imagine why anyone would pay money to do the Tracy Anderson "method" when there are so many other great ways of working out.

So... I actually think its pretty cool to get a glimpse of the kind of workout a celebrity trainer gives. I don't know or care to know a thing about the personal lives of any other trainer out there- don't see what that has to do with her abilities as a trainer. And as for Gwenyth- she looks amazing. Nope- she's not very curvy or prob ever had "batwings"- what a silly thing to call fat- everyone needs a little. It's great that she's found someone who helps her stay in shape, and feeling so awesome and excited about working out that she keeps wanting to share it with people.

Um, LittleBehr, I don't work out "to become smaller." I workout to train for triathlons, marathons, stay in shape, and be strong and healthy. So keep your generalizations to yourself, mkay? Glad to see so many strong, healthy, smart women posting on this !

PS. if Tracey were right about women I'd be massive I run 40-60 miles a week and lift 15-25 pounds (arms, and legs) 3xs a week. But nope I'm a 2 to 4. Eat that Tracey Anderson!
