Have You Signed Up For a Race This Year?

The weather's getting warmer, which means we can all start enjoying outdoor workouts. And what better way to take advantage of Spring weather than training for a race?

Signing up for a race can be one of the best ways to get in shape for Summer. Once you sign up, after all, you'll be less apt to skip a workout if you know you've got a big run to complete in a few months. And having a concrete goal can be the motivation you need to give it your all even when you don't feel like it. What about you — have you signed up for a race this year? Take our poll and then let us know what you'll be doing!

I ran a half marathon at the beginning of March and am signed up to do the Warrior Dash in September. I'm also planning on doing the Muddy Buddy race with my boyfriend in June and the Color Run with a friend in October.

I joined a local running club last year and did my first half two weeks ago having trained all through the winter (being a club member made me keep going on the dark, wet nights!).  It was such a buzz and a sense of achievement, the crowds are so supportive.  I am doing another one in June, will probably do a couple of 10ks in between as training.  Piece of advice.. get your name printed on your shirt - the crowd cheering you on is really motivating :) Good luck everyone.

My first half marathon at the end of May, so nervous!  But I ran 15k today and it went well, so maybe I will make it after all :)

I did a Truffle Shuffle in May. Hot chocolate, melted chocolate and fresh fruit were waiting for us at the finish line. I also signed up for the Kansas City Color Run in July. Very excited about that one! I may sign up for a third 5k between now and June, something local.
