As a woman who has been married within the past six months, I started to gain a lot of weight after my wedding. I knew I had to get it off, so I found a personal trainer in Michigan, which is where I'm from, at aoskettlebells.com\u00a0and lost all the weight I gained and more! My trainer kept me focused on my diet and pushed me during workouts to acheive \u00a0body my husband loves!

@ Zulkey is right. Most women do go on insane pre-wedding diets, and should not be encouraged to maintain what is an unnatural weight for them. They should remain healthy after their wedding, but cut out the nonstop deprivation that more often than not precedes the Big Day.

I am 18 months post wedding and we put on some weight but are dropping it now. Early on we had too many reasons to indulge in alcohol and I think that was a contributing factor, drinking, then careless eating while drinking. We are back on track now. I have been running races and my husband volunteers at the longer distances. He doesn't want to run with me, but he is supportive.

I think "Cut yourself some slack" should be in here though too. I was just looking back at what I was eating right before my wedding and it was....not much. I felt so bad about a few extra pounds that I gained after the wedding just by eating food and not exercising 7 days a week that it snowballed into a few more. Now I'm back on track, about 7 months later but I was really beating myself up for a while for not holding myself to the same wedding-gown standards that I can admit are too strenuous for everyday life.

i think we're lucky that we both hold in high regard working out and keeping fit, so we always go to the gym together. this way, if one of us is lacking in motivation, the other helps out :)

This is something I feel very strongly about -- for me to stay fit and healthy before AND after marriage.I notice most couples do gain excess weight after marriage. That's their prerogative, and it's none of my business, but I know that's NOT for me.For me, it's about feeling AND looking my best. I do this for me. Also, my husband appreciates it very much, too. :)

Yeah, I wished the above worked the other way around though I asked my hubby to stop buying that stuff, and he responded with "So because you dont want it in the house, that means I HAVE to do without?" He has the metabolism of a roadrunner and can eat whatever he wants. And he likes a bag of tostitos during evening tv. What is one to do?

We also have a rule in our house that neither of us buys unhealthy foods at the grocery store. I used to buy bags of chips, cookies, and ice cream all the time, because I knew he liked it, but one day he sat me down and said, "It's making me fat. Stop buying it."
