How Many Hours of Sleep Do You Need?

Not everyone needs eight hours of sleep a night. Some can function on less, and some have to have more. If I get less than seven hours of sleep, I'm way too cranky for anyone's good.

I am a night person and so I usually am very tired at work(tho I focus well)

I need 7-8 hours but I rarely get that. I suffer from restless leg syndrome, and can rarely get to bed before midnight, and im always up at 6am even on weekends. I wish I could sleep til midday like I used to!

depends, i usually sleep in cycles, if i go to uni 6-7 hours is enough, but then i will have 9 hours on weekends. on holidays i sleep 7 hours one day, 8 the next, 7 hours, then 9... ;) and so on.

I can function on 6-7 hours, but can't keep it up for a long time.. but i could use anywhere from 8-10 hours of sleep a day.

I wish I could function with only 6 hours! I need 8-9, the closer to 9 the better.
I can function on 4-6, but 7 is pretty average for me and I feel nice and rested. I could not sleep any longer, my body just will not let it happen even if I plan to do so for a change on the weekends.

8 to 9 hours is ideal. Most of the time I usually get around 7 1/2.

I tend to get 8 hours of sleep during the week, but 9-10 on the weekends.

I become cranky with either too little or too much sleep. I need about 8 hours to function properly.

if i go to sleep and dont set my alarm literally i will sleep undisturbed for anywhere between 12-14 hours... GROSS but anything less and i feel like hell on wheels

I can function on 4-5 hours of sleep...but ideally, I like to have more than 10 to feel completely re-energized. Especially when I've gone without very little sleep throughout the week.

I don't function well at all if I get under 8 hours. I would prefer to get more than that too! Sometimes I think I have chronic fatigue syndrome.
