Jaime Pressly Tells Health Magazine That She Did Cabbage Soup Diet

Jaime Pressly Covers Health: "I Did the Cabbage Soup Diet"

Emmy-award winning actress Jaime Pressly is all smiles on the cover of this month's Health. The My Name Is Earl actress, 32, is in the throes of newlywed bliss (she's been married to lawyer Simran Singh for eight months) and being mom to her 3-year-old son Dezi. Jaime shared with the mag how she stays healthy. Here are the highlights:

  • On her workout: "I get bored easily, so my trainer, Mike Jones, introduced me to TRX. It’s two handles you can attach to a bar or a doorway. You use your body weight for resistance. We also do abs, plus 150 to 200 squats. We work the inner and outer thighs, the quads, the hamstrings. I enjoy feeling the burn and pushing myself."
  • On which workout she won't do: "I am not a yoga person. They say it would be good for me because I’m a Type A person, and it would relax me, but I like action. Yoga’s too Zen for me!"
  • On the pressure to look perfect in Hollywood: "I've never felt that pressure. Part of that is because I know myself. I'm someone who likes to be in shape because it makes me feel good. But I eat junk food, too."

Find out what Jaime said about plastic surgery and the cabbage soup diet when you

.

  • On plastic surgery: "I believe in the saying, 'To each his own.' Who knows, when I’m 56 years old I may want to change something. I don't want anyone to judge me, so I'm not going to judge them."
  • On doing the cabbage soup diet: "I lost the first 32 pounds [of baby weight] by my 30th birthday, which we celebrated in Vegas. We had pool parties, and I was not about to be chunky. I did the cabbage soup diet twice in a row. It lasts six days, and you eat cabbage soup three to four times a day. But one day, you can also eat up to eight bananas."

Also, I heard she just got a boob job. http://www.celebritysmackblog.com/2010/05/10/jaime-pressly-boob-job-before-after-photo/ Not that there's anything wrong with that, but obviously you HAVE "felt that pressure." Hypocrite!

mmm good n plenty.... I don't know how people do diets like that...I would rather go 12 days of only eating fruits and vegetables than 12 days of cabbage soup??? And if you made it mostly vegetables it would be so devoid of calories that you would probably lose as much weight, feel fuller and have way more nutrition.

Why was her picture taken in front of a bowl of Good 'n' Plenty? That's random.

I get Health as well, and was disappointed that they had this article. She doesn't look healthy, and doing extreme diets is crazy. 32 pounds in 3 months?? Even with pregnancy weight, that's way too much weight to lose in such a short amount of time.

I would love to have a body like hers, but I won't be chugging cabbage anytime soon. I do agree with her on yoga though. I find myself laying in a pose, planning my grocery list.

I personally could never do the cabbage soup diet and I don't think it's particularly healthy either. I mean, yeah, you lose weight, but how realistic is it to stay on that plan long-term? It's like any other crash diet--totally not sustainable. Plus, it seems incredibly low in protein--I'm sure you lose weight, but a lot of it is probably muscle mass.

I agree with all the other comments. Not a good fit for Health magazine. Same woman who admitted to eating an english muffin a day during her modelling/eating disorder years. http://www.popeater.com/2009/03/12/jaime-pressly-discusses-eating-disorder/ She definitely used to feel the pressures of being thin.

I don't like yoga either! I love to stretch and lay on a mat breathing deeply but only AFTER a hard workout which left me gasping for air, lungs burning, and drenched in sweat. :)

Uh, wow, way to treat yourself.

So she doesn't feel pressure to be thin yet she will go on a cabbage and banana diet to lose baby weight so she could look good in a bikini? I am all about honesty, but these two statements seem to be contradictary.

I subscribe to Health magazine and was really disappointed with this feature when I read it this weekend. A soup diet and excitement over getting to eat half of a baked potato? Healthy eating Fail.

I don't think cabbage soup sounds appealing, but as she says "to each his own".
