Jessica Biel Covers Glamour UK August 2010: I'm Not a Perfect Person

Jessica Biel Gives Herself a Cheat Day — Do You?

Jessica Biel is looking pretty flirty as the August cover girl for Glamour UK. Besides discussing why she keeps her relationship with Justin Timberlake on the DL, Jessica also opens up about her fitness regimen and eating habits. She also tells the mag that she is not perfect: "I'm not a perfect person who doesn't mess up, eat bad, not work out — I do all those things."

For the most part, Jessica says that she keeps active with gym, hiking, and ballet, and also sticks to a regimented diet when working — no bread, dairy, sugar, salt, and not a lot of meat. But even then, she gives herself a cheat day to eat anything she wants: "When I'm working and I eat healthily all week, I then give myself one day — usually Sunday — when I just eat what I want. You have to, otherwise your mind goes a little nutso."

How about you?

What the hell does she eat? She must look like a whale naturally if she needs to be doing all of that...

I agree, it helps fight the daily cravings. And if you are someone who can do it without going overboard, it is a great trick.

Everyday is a cheat day :P

I think she is saying during times she is filming (when she would need to be the most fit) she has a very strict diet but during that period allows herself one day to indulge. From this statement I didn't get the impression she limited dairy and bread all the time.

No. This notion is lost on me on many levels.

Honestly, if I gave myself a day to eat whatever I want, I'd go nutso...it wouldn't be pretty. Best for me to just indulge here and there.

i think cheat days are a great way to fight against cravings. if i'm craving something i'll say, Ok, wait until Sunday and then if you still want it, have it. Usually by the time Sunday comes I'm over it... or I've anticipated it so much that even a little bit is much more satisfying.

Yeah "cheat days" or anything too regimented would never work for me. I eat healthy most of the time because I like healthy food so I don't feel like I am restricting myself. However if an event or something comes up where I eat less than healthy or indulgent food I am ok with that too. Like le remantique I will just adjust how I eat and how I exercise around those events.

I wouldn't consider it a cheat day because, well, I don't "diet", I just eat healthy. Really, I eat what I want (in moderation). But if I KNOW that I'm having a couples night out with my boyfriend and his friends or something, I will work extra hard up until that night, cardio wise, and generally that day I will make sure to eat mainly vegetables and fruit and nuts so I don't feel too guilty pigging out that night. But I don't dedicate one day each week to be a cheat day.

never!! a lot of foods seem much more tempting when you deny yourself, so i'll allow myself exactly one bite of an item that's over what i planned for the day, put it down, eat a piece of fruit/veg wait 20 mins or so, then if i really really still want it, i'll have it. but i don't schedule days when i go crazy with food and ignore all my principles on healthy eating and reasoned attitude to nutrition

"...sticks to a regimented diet when working — no bread, dairy, sugar, salt, and not a lot of meat." Yeah ok I'd go nuts on tht alone for even 6 days. She eats fruit vegetables and nuts for 6 days a week (oh sorry, with maybe a lean boneless chicken breast every other day). It's not that it's not healthy, but for most of us, it's unrealistic, I think.
