Keep Your Earbuds to Yourself!

While we know that listening to loud music can cause hearing loss, now we have a new thing to worry about when it comes to using earbuds. A study published in the Online Journal of Health and Allied Sciences has found that frequent use of earphones greatly increases the bacterial growth in the ear. If you share earbuds with a friend, say on the bus or while watching a movie on a laptop, bacteria can transfer from your friend's earbud to your ear. If that happens, it can lead to a painful ear infection. So the bottom line is to use your own earbuds, or thoroughly clean the set you're going to share.

Ugh, gross, SHARING ear buds?? That is definitely a good way to get yourself an ear infection. That's like sharing contact lenses or something...it's just wrong! This is why I don't use ear buds. I prefer the headphones that clip around your ears because they're pretty lightweight and you can barely tell you have them on. And if you need to clean them, you just take the foam off and wash it in mild soapy water and rinse it off.

I'm still in awe when I see people doing this. That's is just the height of grossness! I dont care if you are my child, my husband, my best friend....I'm not into sharing ear wax residue.

What's a good way of cleaning them without ruining them? I don't share, but after a workout at the gym, I always feel like everything on me is a little grimey and germy.
