Laugh Your Abs Off

I have always contended that laughing is not only good for the soul, but for your abdominals as well. We don't call them belly laughs for nothing. A few exercise aficionados took the idea of laughter as exercise to an entirely new place. Watch this video to see how deep laughs can make your squats even more challenging for your center. If you laugh while watching it, know that you will be working your abs too.

I know at first it looks like one of those fake commercials from Saturday Night Live, but this is real. Founder of the method, Kerry Beard truly believes laughter is the best medicine. What do you think?

I agree Snowbunny11, I guess I can also count my hour of watching Daily Show and Colbert Report as a tough workout. :treadmill:

Yeah, no way in he!! would I do that; I do not need my family and neighborhood thinking I've lost my marbles (or at least a few more than I already have, lol.) I believe real, gut-bursting teary-eyed and on the verge of falling over laughs are the best for you. When I want to do that I watch comedy from Lewis Black, Steven Wright, RDJ, Jim Carrey and others.

This is truly the lamest thing I have ever seen! But, hey, if I can count my 30 minutes a day of the Daily Show as exercise...

Yeah, I wouldn't be able to do that unless I was watching Blazing Saddles or Napoleon Dynamite or some other truly hilarious movie. Fake laughing just doesn't do it for me.

i agree - i think that there are times that REAL full on laughing session works and you can see the benefit, but the fake laughing thing, not so sure about it.

somehow fake laughter doesn't seem to be as good a workout as a real gut busting, bend over in half, lose your breath ab workoute
