Make a New Cardio Mix For Workout Inspiration

Back on Track: Make a New Cardio Mix

Aside from my sports bra and sneakers, my iPod is also a necessity when I'm working out. Music totally motivates me, and I've found that I don't work out as long or as intensely if there's no music to pump me along. My workout mixes are loud, fast, and definitely not tunes I'd pop in for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I haven't made a new mix in a while and am pretty bored with my old ones, and since it's Spring, I thought it was high time to make a brand new cardio mix to get me moving. I picked some of my old faves like Rihanna's "SOS," and some new ones like Lady Gaga's "Telephone."

I feel the same way. If I don't have my mp3 at the gym with me. I usually don't go as hard as if I had it. For more motivations tips:

I have found that a really great place to find workout mixes is on iTunes through their Podcasts. If you click on the health link under Podcasts you can get TONS of great mixes for free, and you don't have to do any of the mixing; it is done for you!

Thanka anonymous! Ugh, I hate Pink with a passion. And I'm really not a fan of Christina's newer stuff....I liked her when she was Britney No. 2 and I was 13... You guys gotta listen to Robyn. It's great workout music and gets my heart rate up because I sing along on my hikes!

Can you just list all of your songs for this mix in a new post? This app will only let you hear 2 songs in one hour. Thanks.

I love listening to taylor swift when I jog. I'm a new runner (1 week in) so I'm trying to pace myself and not get burnt out. When I do strength training I listen to anything loud and poppy (Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Britney, etc.) to get through all my squats and lunges!

Dig the playlist! You know you're a committed exerciser when you start organizing your iTunes playlists by exercise time/type. i.e. Half marathon, 5 miles, 6 miles, spin, etc.

Boo, I only got to skip 2 tracks an hour...not gonna wait around to see the rest... Telephone is definitely on my list right. Closer by Neyo really got me going this morning.

Everyone's got their favorites. The top of my list includes P!nk (Funhouse). And, here's the rest of my playlist...for pumping iron and spinning...
