Martha Stewart Does S Factor Pole Dancing Workout

Work It, Martha!

I'm loving this clip of Martha Stewart going completely outside of her box by doing a pole dancing workout with S Factor founder, Sheila Kelley. Check out this clip as the domestic diva gets down and gyrates her hips in full workout gear. Despite not being able to slide upside down on the pole, Martha did finish with an impressive leg lift.

If you've ever wanted to try a pole dancing workout but were too afraid, you've got no excuse now. If Martha can do it, so can you. In her own words: "She's got me on the pole. Woo-hoo!"

Is one of your fitness goals for 2010 to step out of your fitness comfort zone? Are you ready to work with a pole?

There is nothing degrading about a pole dancing class when taught in a safe and nuturing classroom. The studio I dance at is women's only. No men are allowed on the property. And the class size is relatively small, 12. Each woman gets her own pole and direction from the instructors. I've learned to go upside down, lots of twirls and managed to climb at a descent height. It's a great exercise. So much strength is needed in you body. Arms, legs and abs all get a workout and you leave feeling like you just did a great strength training class with a bit of cardio. I felt very very sexy working the pole with my girlfriends in the studio and felt very comfortable. The only downside to the pole is the number of bruises and pole burns I got and once in a while I scratched my thigh with my stilleto. Sedusa studios has 3 locations in the Bay Area. San Francisco, Campbell and Walnut Creek. They offer other dance techniques too. Pussycat, Lap, and even Aerial (which I freaking LOVE!!! tho silk burns, ouch)

I used to do it regularly. It was a lot of fun and a great workout, very woman-positive. It's hard to feel sexy when you're all bruised and sweaty and your wrists have pole burn, though!

I'd love to try this. It seems like a great workout.
