Meet Jess: Sponsored Guest Blogger and Reebok Fan!

In the Sport of Fitness, you must be prepared for the unknown and the unknowable. "A key element to a fair test of fitness is the unknown. . . . Athletes can't train for what they don't know." (Source: CrossFit.) This is the philosophy of the CrossFit Games and a typical WOD (workout of the day) at your CrossFit local box.

Yes. I love it. I embrace it. But, what do I wear?!

Now, this isn't solely about fashionable fitness attire. But, let's be frank; we want to look good and feel confident when we are dominating workouts, don't we?

Because no workout is the same, an individual needs to be ready for any sort of exercise or movement. This means wearing clothing that allows you to perform skills in a full range of motion including overhead squats, kettle bell swings, and 400m sprints.

The same concept is applied to your feet. Shoes must permit to you feel movements like jumping, running, and stretching. Lightweight, flexible footwear is necessary.

CrossFit is a new fitness challenge to me. It’s humbling and illustrates there is always room to improve. Reebok clothing is my ‘uniform’ now which reminds me of my past athletic uniforms. My fitness inspiration and friend, Anna, introduced me to competitive track & field while we played youth softball. Her grit, mental tenacity and sheer will are found in every aspect of her life then, and now as mother and distinguished doctor. In fact, I finished as State Runner-Up to her by a mere inch in the triple jump! She persistently finds a way to excel and inspires me to put forth my best effort.

To help celebrate our fitness heroes, Reebok is hosting a contest with the grand prize being a girls’ trip to NYC including a Reebok shopping spree and chance to star in an inspirational fitness video! Check out the Reebok Pinterest Contest board with contest details. You can start your own Pinterest board sharing your favorite Reebok gear and fitness heroes.
