More Motivating: The New Year or Spring?

The start of a new year is typically the time that most of us pin as a motivation time to get fit and healthy. I understand the concept behind starting anew and fresh in the new year, but the most motivating time for me is Spring (when most people lose steam). However, the longer, sunnier days do the trick for me. Not to mention knowing that bikini season is just around the corner. So what about you? Are you more motivated at the start of a new year or at the start of Spring?

Definitely spring. It's starts getting warm out and the heavy concealing clothes start to go away. There is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.

the cold makes it hard to be motivated, so with the warm weather, it is easier for me to get active.

My birthday is always a bigger motivation than New Year's or spring.

Definitely spring! When the weather gets nice and the produce gets fresh, I just feel more motivated to move more and eat a little less. I'm also DYING to wear cute clothes after a winter of wearing baggy sweatshirts and jeans, so I get extra motivated to tone up all my trouble spots. To me, New Year's is just one more winter day...blah :P

I've never been a New Years Resolution person so the new year doesn't necessarily inspire me. But Spring definitely does! I just feel so much better and have so much more energy once the sun comes out. I require sunshine to thrive :)

definitely spring - once the sun starts coming out it makes me want to go out and run... but then again - another motivator in winter is a wedding.. lol. ;-)

When the weather starts getting nice and I want to be outdoors all the time, it motivates me to get workin out so I can fit in cute summer clothes... not to mention a swim suit!! New Years works too, but its so hard to get motivated in January and February when it gets dark so early and its so cold out.

For me, it was Dec 26th to start getting healthy. I've lost 27 lbs since!!!I hate when spring comes around because it starts to get HOT in southern Cali, and I HATE sun/hot wheather...I'm all about the cold. I cover my whole body in the summer too, lol.

I think New Year is really motivating, but Spring is when I get my second wind. If it wasn't for the Springtime, I think I might be tempted to give up sometimes!

Truely spring is, you so want to get outdoors. It reminds me of long bike rides.

I live in the desert, so really most of the year is warm, so spring just another day for me! This year I made my new years resolutions and have actually stuck with them this year! Except one, but it's not the fitness one

I think both! New Years kind of gives you somewhere to start, to make a goal. And spring just gives it that extra push because you reallllllly wanna look hot in that new bikini!
