Naomi Watts Workout Routine

There's Nothing Impossible About Naomi Watts's Fitness Routine

If this season's award shows are any indication, we're expecting to see Naomi Watts make her way down the Oscars red carpet in a strapless or backless gown. It's not always easy to show that much skin, but Naomi, who is nominated for her work in The Impossible, strives to look her best by keeping up with a solid fitness routine. Her trainer, Simone De La Rue, told us that Naomi is one of her most focused and motivated clients and, quite simply, "loves to work out." Take a peek at how Naomi is staying in shape for the big night and how you can incorporate her tips into your own routine.

  • Keep it consistent: Award season is no short stint; it kicks off in December and lasts until the end of February. To look her best throughout, Naomi works out one hour a day, five days a week. While it might seem like there's no time for a similar regimen in your own life, make fitness a priority by creating a workout schedule. Pencil morning, lunch, and evening workouts onto your calendar, and replace a happy hour with a cycling or yoga date instead. You'll find that consistency is key when it comes to seeing results. Get started with our weekly exercise schedule.
  • Add variety: To keep Naomi "on her toes," Simone makes a point to keep things varied. The trainer has Naomi focus on cardio, strength training, and toning, which includes workouts like Pilates, dance, barre, and yoga. She also throws trampoline and jump rope into the mix! When scheduling your own workouts, strive to include a mix of different activities. Not only will this keep you from getting bored, but it also helps you focus on three key elements of any good fitness regimen: strength, cardio, and stretch. Our 10-minute workout videos include enough variety to keep you busy for months!
  • Find what you love: Above all, find something you love to do. Simone says that Naomi can't get enough of planks. The actress also loves doing activities that incorporate her entire family, like cycling and water sports. The sooner you can find something you enjoy doing, the sooner your workout becomes your favorite pastime.
