Pictures of The Jersey Shore Cast Working Out in Miami: Tube Top, Red Bull, Cigarettes

Speak Up: What's the Strangest Outfit You've Seen at the Gym?

It's been a bit of a media circus since the Jersey Shore came to Miami, and photos confirm that they haven't changed a bit. When it comes to the sweet life, three things top the list: gym, tan, and laundry, aka GTL. Since being down in Florida, the cast has managed to hit the gym almost every day. And while I find them entertaining, I'll admit that I am just a little taken aback by their gym antics — especially the outfits. I guess they keep their style constant even when working out.

OK, so maybe "The Situation" needed to keep his sunglasses on to beat the Miami glare, but how the heck is J-Woww managing to jump rope in a tube top? Meanwhile, Snookie has been seen on the treadmill with her hair perfectly coiffed under a trucker cap or bandana, still managing to text away at the same time. Throw in the Red Bulls and cigarettes, and it's one of the more unusual gym scenes I've seen. But it still doesn't come close to the woman I saw working out in high heels a few years ago!

Tell me . . . what's the strangest outfit you've seen at the gym?

I remember a middle aged man wearing black leather business shoes with high socks, shorts (reminded me of dress pants but in short short form) and a checkered button up shirt. I really don't know how he was cycling on the bike comfortably! I personally need to be extremely comfortable to have an effective workout.

I have a few. One woman at my old gym (bless her for working out) Would never wear a sportsbra with her camisole and highwater pajama pants. To top it off, she always wore black hiking boots on the treadmill. no wonder she never went faster than a slow walk! And, what always get's me are the jean-ers and baseball-cap wearers. I now work out at my school's (college) rec center, and there are always girls in there in trucker hats and ed hardy shirts. And...yesterday a girl was wearing a skirt (not skort!). When she bent over to stretch, she was wearing a too-small thong. You can imagine the view, yikes.

While living in LA, I saw these women at the gym just to seek attention. One of the regulars was always wearing a triangular shaped sports bra which covered NOTHING. She surely got noticed by men though.

i agree poster #29. sometimes i come in after class and might have makeup on. but i dont put on makeup to go to the gym. there are neon orange signs with bold capital letters saying to wear appropriate attire and footwear. i dont care if you are wearing baggy sweats or yoga pants or whatnot, as long as its something appropriate to wear to the gym and work out and move in. vacation girl taking a stroll on the treadmill with her skinny jeans and fuzzy sweater, not appropriate. sometimes ive forgotten to bring a comfy oversized tshirt to the gym with me and work out in a babydoll tee, but i dont make it a habit nor do i find it strange.

No joke, there was this senior lady who used to come to the gym wearing only nude pantyhose as her bottoms. Sure she did have amazing legs (better than mine) but.... I'm surprised none of the staff ever said anything to her.

i agree that improper use of equipment could be dangerous as well; but better athletic shoes with ankle and arch support than ballet flats with no support at all.

I guess I look like a "lesbian prison guard" when I go to the gym on weekends b/c I don't put on makeup (or even wash my face or brush my teeth) for those workouts. But anyway, I kind of go nuts when I see people take their shoes off for their cooldown/stretching in the common areas. I just don't like looking at unshod freshly-worked-out feet.

I remember the day I forgot my track pants and I was already in the locker room about to change. I went back home and decided to work out the next day. Sure I grumbled and I hated my carelessness, but I can NEVER work out in jeans or slacks. It's soo uncomfortable. I can't imagine running my 10k tempo runs in my jeans. One time I went to the gym and saw this girl wearing a denim miniskirt and skyscraper heels waltzing around the weights section. I don't think she even wanted to work out, because I never saw her again. She's just busy trying to catch male attention. And that's what annoys me. And I don't get the whole wearing sunglasses in the gym when its 8pm at night or wearing visors while doing weights.

also, i think a lot of this has to do with comfort and gym safety, not necessarily judging what other people wear. wearing shoes not made for working out/athletic activities could lead to an injury. and i like to wear mens basketball shorts to work out because i like that they arent too short or form fitting and are comfortable to move around in; couldnt imagine going through my work out in jeans or work slacks.

I was on vacation and went to the gym one night and saw a family. The teenage daughter was wearing skinny jeans, ballet flats, and a fuzzy sweater while on the treadmill...i was really confused.

I see a lot of senior citizens working out in jeans, which I actually find sort of charming, like that's as dressed down as they get. I also see the loafers/khaki guy on the spin bike and the likely engineers in yoga wearing shirts buttoned all the way up and khaki shorts. I prefer that to the properly dressed but really smelly, really sweaty guy.

Anon 13, it's a GYM, you wear proper GYM clothes, point blank. There's rules. You follow them. It's the same all over for proper attire at proper places. I don't care how out of shape some person is when they are at my gym, I'm not going to bat an eye, but at least come dressed in a t-shirt and proper workout bottoms with the proper shoes, that's all. And people who work out at my gym in jeans and loafers make me want to scream.

This guy who runs alongside me always wears his khakis and an Italian footie jersey. The jersey part I can understand, but khakis? On top of that, he doesn't even wear proper running shoes. Oh and some girls do wear a lot of makeup before workouts.

There was this one guy that used to work out at our gym wearing his business clothes--khaki pants, button down shirt, and wingtips. I don't know how the heck you could get a decent workout in if you're wearing shoes like that. Ow!
