I read labels all the time. I write about sodium content all the time, but this little bit of nutritional information always escapes me. I can never remember the RDI of sodium. So consider this a pop quiz and see if you know how much sodium you should be eating.

It seems the more convenient the food, the higher the sodium and calories. I try to drink water and cook at home when I can, but mostly because I want to know what's going into my body and to burn some calories in the process, save money, and actually be able to season something to taste! Having a healthier diet is just an added bonus.

Being a spice fiend makes this hard for me, but as long as I'm cooking my meals, I stray from 1800-2500mg a day.

When I was counting calories and nutritional info, I found that consuming less than 3000 mg of salt was near impossible. I gave up on trying :D

I got this one, but that's because I'm obsessed with cutting down on my salt intake! I always read the label for salt intake & I never add salt to my meals.

Thanks for this! I was actually wondering this very fact today! I've had some excess bloat and i wondered if my salt intake was too high, now I can monitor myself.

and it seems the only possible way to stay under that level is to cook everything yourself . . . that's what i have discovered.
