Speak Up: What's Your Fall Fitness Goal?

Now that it's officially Fall, students are back in school, and the warmer air is being replaced with a crisp breeze. The changing of the seasons often inspires healthy changes and fitness goals. I am wondering if you've signed up for a race, just bought a bike and are training for a century ride, or maybe your goal is to start exercising more after chilling out all Summer. Share your goals in the comment section below and studies show, if you write it down or share it with others, it's more likely to happen.

I've been running for about a year and half now, going to the gym six days of the week and strength training on three of those days. I'd like to run my next 10K (Early November) in under an hour, that'd be awesome.

I am partaking in National Park Ranger Training in January (I just got officially accepted 2 days ago to the place of my choice!) an so I have to pass a federal exam on completion of the 13 week course that starts in January. So... I have started weight lifting 3 days a week, hiking at least once a week with a long strnuous hike everyother weekend and I am now going to try and increase my cardio too. My main goal is to bench press 100-115lbs and increase my speed on a 1.5mile run. So far so good and with a healthier diet I am taking I feel great!!!! Wish Me Luck!

I really, really want to lose 10 lbs..I've lost about 25 after changing my diet and hitting my highest weights ever...but I have finally hit a plateau and don't know how to get out of it. My issue is I HATE, HATE exercise, I have tried to get into it, but I just can't. I love healthy food though and I like to cook, so just on cutting calories alone I lost weight, but now my body doesn't have much else to lose and I want to be skinnier! so its not really a goal, more like a wish.

To actually start going to the gym on a regular basis. I'm getting up and going on Monday morning, since that's when the fancy new recreation center on campus opens up!

It would be nice to lose some weight, but since it isn't necessary for me, I won't be devastated if it doesn't happen. As long as I continue with my work out routine and eat (fairly) healthy I'm happy.

I'm running my second 5K of the year so I'd like to beat my first time. Also this morning I tried to run 2 9-minute miles but I clocked in at 18:30 so it would be nice to get that down to a flat 18.

My goal for fall is to make a smooth, injury-free transition to running outside as soon as it is cool enough again. It's not a huge goal, but it will make me happy.

My goal is to learn a new sport when I'm settled in college and stick to it (will probably be running). I eventually want to run a race but I just want to adjust to a running routine first :) I'm looking forward to buying the sneakers and clothes hehe! I would also like to lose another 10-15 pounds. I was on a healthy food/exercise kick in august but with september came school stress and I've fallen off the wagon. I've maintained my weight but still - I want to lead a healthy lifestyle. Good luck to everyone with your goals! I hope you all succeed :)

lydailee - Nope, I'm not doing the San Jose one because I actually live in St. Louis. I'm doing Nike through Team In Training, so I'm making a special trip to San Francisco for it. Since the whole race is to benefit LLS, people with TNT come from all over. Oh, I'm also doing the Disney World Half Marathon with my dad, but that isn't until January so it's not quite on my radar yet :)

To stick to a workout schedule. I'm hoping this will be easier now that I'm no longer on vacation and my days are more structured, but on the other and it will be hard to balance fitness and the ton of school work I'll have this semester...

I want to become a runner! I'm not interested in races, honestly... but I want to run double-digits at a great speed. I want to get more flexible too, so trying to work in some yoga.

I'm already in pretty good shape and I like my body, but I do need to gain some flexibility and I'd love to increase my range of motion. I'm going to try to incorporate more yoga and Pilates into my routine to try and get more limber.

I've just got to get back into a regular workout schedule. I've slacked off big time - it's time to get serious before the holidays are here! My goal this weekend is to get outside and go for a nice, long trail run/hike.
