Step in the Right Direction: Moderate Exercise Defined

You've heard that you should take at least 10,000 steps a day. You know you are supposed to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week. Now combining those two means of measuring your exercise output, you can find your moderate rate of exercise. And it is as simple as taking 100 steps in one minute. This means walking briskly, as if you are late for a very important date and not simply strolling along. These numbers come from a new study funded by the federal government and hopefully explain a fuzzy area of the fitness world. I, for one, believe a pedometer will definitely come in handy when trying to determine your 100 steps in one-minute pace. Now get walking!
