When it comes to losing weight, filling up on fiber can make you feel satiated longer, so you're less likely to reach for higher-calorie nibbles throughout the day. Veggies are an excellent fiber source, and they tend to also be low in calories. Not all vegetables are created equal though, so choose from the list below when it comes to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

  1. Asparagus: Four spears are 13 calories.
  2. Cauliflower: Four florets are 12 calories.
  3. Celery: One medium stalk is six calories.
  4. Cucumber: Half of a whole is 23 calories.
  5. Green string beans: 10 beans are 17 calories.
  6. Green bell pepper: Half of a whole is 12 calories.
  7. Radishes: Five medium are four calories.
  8. Spinach: One cup is seven calories.
  9. Tomatoes: One plum tomato is 11 calories.
  10. Zucchini or yellow summer squash: Half of a medium-sized whole is 16 calories.
