Get on the Ball: Ab Crunch Ball Pass

This exercise is proof you can work your abs without doing crunches. It is actually relaxing while being an extremely effective ab toner. Since your head stays on the floor, this ab move doesn't strain your neck at all. Plus, you get a little inner thigh bonus by squeezing the ball between your legs.

  • Lie on your back with your feet on the floor and knees slightly bent. Hold an exercise ball in your hands with your arms extended overhead so they're parallel with the floor. Press your lower back into the floor and try to keep it this way throughout the exercise. Scoop your abs toward your spine to help.
  • Lift your legs off the floor and transfer the ball from your hands to your feet, squeezing the ball with your ankles to keep it from falling. Then lower your arms and legs toward the floor.
  • Lift your feet and arms up, and transfer the ball back to your hands. Bring the ball overhead as you lower your feet to the floor. Keep your knees bent, or for more of a challenge, keep your legs straight.
  • Continue passing the ball back and forth as many times as you can.
