Just like any other strenuous activity, be sure to warm up before hitting real challenging runs on the slopes. Start with a few easy runs to get your muscles warmed up, and then hit the harder slopes. I know you're anxious to race down the mountain and tackle those black diamonds and moguls, but this way you'll be less likely to get injured when you do.

hmmmmmmmm... i just love skiing but there isn't any snow (or mountains for that matter) where I live, so I always fly out to my visit my parents whenever I want to go skiing. Whenever I read posts about skiing or winter sports on this website, I always remember the good times during winter break... *sniff sniff*
