I think a friend of mine and I are going to join a running club that prepares for the next marathon in your City. I'm pretty stoked about it. DeviousMuse 7 years After just starting to run in January (I was sidelined for high-impact exercise for 6 years after a nasty skiing accident), I just completed my first half-marathon and am going for a full marathon in December. In between now and then, I'm doing a couple 15Ks, 10Ks and at least two more half-marathons. :) sq2 7 years Is that a shirt I could buy? Now my longest races are 1/2 marathons; for me the perfect compromise. And every time I line up for a 1/2 marathon and there is a marathon going at the same time I am sooo happy I don't have to run 13 more miles! But what I really want to get into is adventure racing. mirawilliams 7 years I ran a 5k, but didn't run for a year. I am not naturally athletic or fast, but it is worthwhile to set a goal and have something concrete, like a race, to make sure I meet it! Also it is fun to run with so many other people! Before I started doing occasional races, I had no idea there were so many runners in the world. mondaymoos 7 years I did my first 1/2 in 2005... and after leaving the military, sort of lost my motivation to run. But one of my freinds made me a shadow box with my race shirt, medal, number and a picture to motivate me to run after work. So far it's been working great! sumbum 7 years I ran my first half marathon last year @ SF's Nike Women's Marathon...wow, was that tough!! But by far one of my most proudest accomplishments.
