Which Do You Prefer, Cardio or Lifting Weights?

Me, I prefer cardio strictly because I think it's easier to just start moving. Especially since when I am lifting weights I have to plan out what I am going to do, and for how long, and how heavy, and etc . . . so which do you prefer?

Cardio is easier to do than weights for me.

i hate cardio! that being said, i am desperately trying to do more of it. i know that it is really one of the only ways to lose weight. i do a lot of weights too tho everyday. i'm trying to balance it out more evenly. the weights have a quick result...i can see my arms getting toned within a matter of days, but my middle is still jiggly! that's why i have stepped up the amount of cardio...like it or not, it's the only way to burn substantial fat.

There definitely should have been a "both" option here!

Browneyedgirl- Yeah my personal trainer just added 40 mins of weight training 4 days a week and the changes were so drastic so quickly! I already look and feel so much better after two weeks, it's crazy. I have reduced the amount of cardio to 20-40 minutes 3-4 times a week, and though I want to start doing interval training, I am going to really try to limit the time I spend doing cardio. I make sure to do the weight training first now, and then I treat myself with a little cardio after...and a little Mighty Taco after that! :)

I have recently increased my running to about 8-12 miles a day (I previously ran 3-5 miles/day) 7 days a week. I was able to do this when I started lifting weights(rather grudgingly).Weights have helped increase my running distance tons! I recommend reading "The Athlete's Way" by Christopher Bergland. He is an Iron Man competitor. His book convinced me that all my running is great, but without weight lifting I'm not achieving my fitness potential. Now I can run forever and not feel tired.

Cardio! I love torching the calories and getting all sweaty. I have to really force myself to lift weights, even though I like the results I get from them.

Cardio! It's just so "freeing" like ibiteback said. I feel like I accomplished a lot by my daily cardio. :D

I already walk 32 blocks, twice a day, 5 days a week, within half hour periods. I don't feel the need to do more cardio at the gym. Plus I've found over the years that cardio is continuous upkeep. Miss a day or a week, and it'll ruin your whole schedule. Lifting weights lasts longer and burns more calories.

cardio is pretty boring unless i decide to take a walk outside or go for a bike ride. but then i don't really think of it as cardio, just as enjoying myself outdoors. as far as scheduled exercise, weights are where its at. its more interesting and does a lot more for your body.

I don't mind cardio, but reducing the cardio and upping the weight routine has made amazing changes. I was doing a lot of cardio, and I wasn't seeing the changes I see now.
