Which Swimsuit Are You Most Comfortable In?

So it's August and I'm sure many of you have been spending a lot of time soaking in the sunshine and playing in the water. Typically, summertime can bring up a lot of anxiety for women when they think about having to put on a swimsuit. So tell me. . .

Having swum competitively all through high school and college, I cannot wear anything other than a one-piece. Partly because once I get in the water I go into automatic training mode and partly the thought of wearing something with the potential for a wardrobe malfunction is daunting. I did used to have a Speedo training two-piece which I liked, but I still felt the bottoms created too much drag. However as I live in Scotland the problem of what to wear on the beach/by the pool doesn't really come up!

The shorts like bottoms from such catalogues have the same bathing suit material

I refuse to wear any sort of swimsuit as they usually are skimpy and remove easily when going on slides. also give more awful unappealing suntan marks. Since I prefer to tan even I stick with some shorts of the material from catalogers such a Lane Bryant or so. and add to this a simple baby doll T shirt that's super tight and light gray or white. I prefer not to attract the bees or bugs with bright colors. I also prefer to maintain self respect by keeping this beautiful body separate from the elements and some sort of creepy guys hanging around the beach.

I just got a shortini (new word to me and i love it). The top is a halter and the bottoms are shorts that really cover up my behind, like very short shorts. I went hiking around a lake in the suit and was totally comfortable in and out of the water.

My honeymoon is the only time I have worn a swimsuit in the past 10 years, and I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon! I wore a tankini and felt less exposed that way, but I don't know that it was any more flattering than a bikini would have been. I'm short and thin, but pretty pear shaped, ugh.

Sporty or skimpy bikini.

lucky for me i haven't had much time to wear one - but i think that i personally like bandeau tops and low slung bottoms, and then i'll usually wear a skirt or shorts over the bottoms cause i don't like ppl to see my thighs. i'm just weird like that!

"I think it's pathetic when a woman can't wear a certain type of bathing suit because her husband doesn't like the attention that she gets. Are you required to run everything you wear by your "D"H to ensure it gets his approval?" Well, with my husband, it's kind of cute, in my opinion. He ONLY draws the line with my bikinis, nothing else in my wardrobe. When I was modelling my new bikini for him, he gently said,"You look good. Please, can this be for my eyes only? Please don't share this with other men. This should be a husband-privilege." My husband was very sweet and flattering about it. He left it up to me, and I decided to be considerate of this feelings. My husband is a very good spouse. I was inspired to do this for him. Besides, sometimes I do lounge around the home with my bikini. He likes it. It makes for an interesting evening. :)

Well, by the time I feel ready to wear a swimsuit at all, my body's usually decent enough for a bikini. For some reason skimpier looks better than a tankini or something.

I own several different kinds, a very skimpy bikini, a tankini, and board shorts with a matching halter bikini top. The very skimpy I wear only at the pool and the others I wear at the beach because they don't fall off in the waves. I agree with cjmaetc that bikini makers need to make something for those more top heavy. When I was a D cup, I just didn't wear a bathing suit.

Last year I bought a pair of board shorts to wear over my ten year old bikini. The cellulite won that round.

I like my bikini or a tankini if it's cut right. Some tankinis make me look stumpy, but a good bikini with high-cut legs makes me look great. Still, I'm really self-conscious about showing my body off in public...my husband doesn't like it when other guys look at me either, lol :)

How about one that fits? Seriously, these designers need to stop making halter top bikini's for us D-cups... do you know how heavy D-boobs are?

A regular bikini if I'm hanging out at the beach or the pool ... a one piece speedo (from HIGH SCHOOL ... 8 years ago) when I'm training. ... I think it's pathetic when a woman can't wear a certain type of bathing suit because her husband doesn't like the attention that she gets. Are you required to run everything you wear by your "D"H to ensure it gets his approval?

Bikini for me. I've tried tankinis but I think my torso is too short or something because they just make me look fat. The shortinis look terrible on me too and I never see any cute one pieces these days. All my hard work at the gym has to be for something right?

Like GlowingMoon, DH also don't like me wearing bikini. I look hot :P. Also, because I swim a lot and quite active, I think a one piece is best for me!

Sadly, I'm not comfortable in any swimsuit. I'm petite and slim but I'm super self-conscious about my body half naked. :(
