Who's More Into Fitness: You or Your Mom?

Who's More Into Fitness: You or Your Mom?

Since it's Mother's Day today, I was wondering about your mom's healthy habits when it comes to exercise. My mother happens to be really big into staying active. She's not a marathoner by any means, but she walks every day. Even though she's into staying fit, I'm definitely more into working out than she is. What about you and your mom?

My mom has installed an incredibly healthy mindset into my brain which will NEVER EVER vanish! I will forever be obsessed with fitness and nutrition!!!

Definitely me. My mom has a tendency to go on fitness kicks, but loses interest quickly.

Way more fit than my mom. Sadly. -.- We try to encourage her to eat healthy, less/portion control, and excercise no matter how minimally like walking, but she doesn't listen. She used to be very tiny, like 27 years ago before we were born, and now, well, lets just say she has an unhealthy weight for her frame. I don't know what I can do or say to get her to change some aspects of her lifestyle other than cook healthy foods for her.

I am waay more into fitness than my mother is. I run 2 miles 3-5 times a week, I do random yoga poses (like mini workouts for 10-15 minutes) throughout the day, and I am currently shopping for a pilates workout video to supplement my regular calisthenics. My mother has been skinny/fat her entire life (up until this year, she gained about 20 pounds) and spends more time complaining how fat she is now than I do working out. She has recently started walking, and I am trying to talk her into start doing sprinting/jogging intervals to intensify her workout a bit, so hopefully that will help her with her self esteem and her weight issues!

I'm more active, but my mom lives a well-balanced life.

Pretty equal. I'll never wake up at 4:45 for a spin class though, and she does that three times a week. :P

I am way more into fitness than my mom is. She's one of the least athletic people I know. I tried to get her involved in various physical activities, but she just hates getting sweaty and moving around. I remember her doing the Jane Fonda aerobics workout back in the day...she always stopped about halfway through and for a long time, I thought that was the whole workout. I've been trying to convince her to start biking or walking, but so far it's been pretty futile.

Mom is more fit, I think. Growing up, my mom was a black belt (martial art), played badminton, tennis, biked, swam, ran, did many triathlon competition, horse riding, yoga trips, etc etc. LOL (she was just soo active). She really ate well and was very disciplined with fitness and diet. I only did the swimming, tennis, martial art, running, horse riding and biking when she was trying to get me involved in all those sporty events. And I hardly ever participated (except for tennis) in sports competition. I don't think I eat too well too :p Now, she still does light martial art and walking (she does have a medical condition that limits her). While my work-out consists only of walking and playing with my kid :p Oh. I suck.

I am, and it shows. However, in all fairness, given my Mom's age (and current medical conditions), she's in fairly good shape. It's all relative.

I'm more into fitness than my mother is. All my mother even gets out of the house for are doctor visits and to go to the grocery store. The rest of the time is spent sleeping excessively or parked in front of the tv. She complains about how much weight I've lost. You're right Teagan, you can only do so much for them. They have to want to help themselves.

I'm more into fitness because I actually have a membership to the gym. (I unfreezed it last week with the permission from my physical therapist, yay!). Mom, on the other hand, does not have a membership, and when I invite her to go, she always makes up excuses as to why she can't go that day. (I get one free guest with me to work out with. I did this type of membership originally so that I could have Mom come with me to work out.)

I am. I am a high level athlete and my mother, I am sad to say, considers exercise getting up for more chips. Both my parents are over weight and do not care about their fitness or health. It makes me very sad, but I've tried everything to get them to care, but you can only lead a horse to water, right?

Proud to say, equally fit. I always take my athletic clothes and shoes when I go home to visit!
