I kid. I love to ride my bike down by the water & have a picnic afterwards. Allytta 6 years fun/exercise/transportation. usually they are not combined. but sometimes i opt bike for the bus. but as a general rule i make an outing with a purpose of being fitter. used to have just fun plus fitness when i rode with my friends. smashedpotatoe13 6 years i love that my college town is nice and flat so i can ride around town and we have an awesome park :) juliet 6 years I feel the most alive when I'm racing down the streets on my bike, particularly when I whiz past cars that are stuck in traffic. Chicago has such a wonderful bike community - I couldn't live without my bike!! ;-) aimeeb 6 years All of the above, I can't wait to get one for this summer. :) GlowingMoon 6 years I plan to buy a bike to do nearby errands. It's green, saves on energy costs, and good exercise. Spectra 6 years If I'm going to the grocery store to pick up only a couple of items, I bike because it's good exercise and I don't have to waste the gas in my car. Usually I just ride for fun, though. I wish I could bike to work, but that'd be one heckuva long commute every day! cvandoorn 6 years Exercise and fun. darc5204 6 years neonbee, you should definitely take it up now! It just takes a bit of balance, so it shouldn't be hard for you to learn. It's not like learning when you're 4 and have limited motor skills. Ayu 6 years For all of the above reasons. Luckily I live about 3 miles from college, so I'm there in about 10 minutes, that's including 5 red traffic lights. neonbee 6 years I would love to, but I never learned... I'm so ashamed! My mother thought riding was for boys, so all I did when I was younger was dance. skigurl 6 years i only ride for exercise (slash it's a fun way to exercise)...i never ride my bike for transportation...it's also hard with clip on pedals to rush off to the store or something cuz you cant just walk around in those shoes starangel82 6 years If I could ride a bike to work, I would. As it is, it is too far and I would probably be injured or dead in 15 minutes. katyharper 6 years I sooo wish I lived in an area where I could bike to work. The traffic is just too dangerous though. ilanac13 6 years as an adult, i started riding again because my company was sponsoring a team to ride in a bike race/tour and i wanted to participate. now i think that it's a good form of exercise that's not too high impact to really hurt you if you're delicate tlsgirl 6 years I don't ride one, only because I don't have one though, and it's not in my budget right now. MrsRachel 6 years This reminds me, I need to change my inner tubes. As a kid I would ride my bike all of the time, it was fun and it really kept me in shape. Sadly, I haven't ridden in a while, even though I now live in an area with bike trails! I think I'm going to try to go out this weekend... almostloli 6 years i can't. hahah runningesq 6 years Because I need something to do between the swim and the run ;) blondie829 6 years Only for fun and for exercise. I wish I could use it for transportation! tsp 6 years i love that using my bike to commute to work essentially translates to a two-a-day, giving my metabolism a little boost am and pm. i don't have a huge commute, only about 8-9 miles each way, but for me it's just about the right amount of time. plus, it's a nice way to mentally prepare for--or come down from--my day! i ride on the weekends because i can get a good calorie burn in a relatively short period of time. i don't usually ride the stationary bike at the gym though. i opt to mix things up when i'm stuck inside. ChristinaVal 6 years I've recently tried spin classes, and they are probably the hardest thing I have ever done, and I don't get it! I work out regularly, I run, I lift, I bike on my own, but those classes KILL ME. I'm trying to get into it, but I don't think i'll ever do it for enjoyment. Just exercise. :) bluebellknoll 6 years I enjoyed it when I was a kid but not so much now. miss-malone 6 years For all of those reasons. :) Swedeybebe 6 years i loooove to ride... the scenery is so different when riding a bike from driving in a car.
